About the lecturer:
Muriel Agnes, PhD
Dr. Muriel Agnes is an educator and auricular acupuncturist. Her PhD (Energy Medicine, 2002) dissertation focused on the international use and experience of the Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS), a pulse diagnosis method used in auricular medicine.
Since attending the International Conference on Auricular Medicine in Las Vegas in 1999, Dr. Agnes has apprenticed with several doctors of auricular medicine, which led her to choose the German approach as the most effective. She brought Dr. Beate Strittmatter, Director of Education of the German Academy of Auricular Medicine, to North America in 2002 to teach, and was then mentored in teaching the curriculum used by the German Academy by Dr. Strittmatter and by German-trained acupuncturist/physician Dr. Peter Gross of Halifax.
Dr. Agnes’s education also includes a Masters of Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia (1987). She has many years’ experience as a consultant and educator in health promotion, community, personal and organizational development. Dr. Agnes is certified in auricular acupuncture by ACI, and is also a certified psychosynthesis counselor (1995). Dr. Agnes’ latest venture has been to establish the Vital Principle Institute, through which she is training health practitioners in North America in German Auricular Medicine.
