AFCI Scholarships

Dr. Joseph Wong Scholarship: This award is offered annually in those years when the AFCI Education Committee is satisfied that a student proposal meets the scholarship standard. Preference will be given to individuals who plan to use their training to promote the use of acupuncture within mainstream medicine or as a future AFCI instructor. The scholarship provides free tuition to the 2B/3B program, the advanced level anatomical courses.

Dr. Sona Tahan Scholarship: The award is offered annually in those years when AFCI Education Committee is satisfied that a student proposal meets the scholarship standard. Preference will be given to individuals who plan to use their training to promote the use of Anatomical Acupuncture combined with Classical Acupuncture within mainstream medicine or as a future instructor at the Institute.  The Sona Tahan Scholarship consists of free tuition to attend two of the AFCI Level II Classical courses awarded to one eligible person. This includes registration fees, videos (VHS/DVD's) and manual.

The Clifford G. Woolfe Memorial Award was established in 1992 to honour the memory of Dr. Cliff Woolfe, one of the founders of the AFC and a man who worked tirelessly to support the organization in its first 13 years. The award is given to individuals who have made a significant contribution to medical acupuncture and the recipient is asked to present a lecture.
